This year is the 10th anniversary of Time4Kids operating in this city. Over the years both clubs have raised in excess of $100,000.
Funds are raised for Police Youth programs for kids at risk, equipment for the kids and the vast array of activities conducted in the clubs.
Both the websites www.pcycnsw.org.au/wollongong and www.pcycnsw.org.au/bulli provide full details about the opportunities that are offered to the community. Both clubs are both located close to both train and bus transport.
The wide range of programs are fun and affordable, catering ffrom pre-schoolers to adults in a safe and caring environment.
Walk through the doors of either club during the day and into the evening, you'll see how busy they are with a broad range of programs operating.
Every Wednesday morning at 7am, the Wollongong club hosts young people and police officers from both clubs participating in a "Fit for Life" program where both groups join together for workshops and compete against each other in sporting activities. This is followed by a nutritious breakfast, then school students are taken to their respective schools.
It is a life-changing program for young people to experience and includes content such as of health, fitness, nutrition and life skills, all providing a positive environment for personal growth and development.
The support received over the years by our business and community representatives has been outstanding and valued. Rotary established PCYC 82 years ago in April this year, establishing the first club at Wooloomooloo.
This has now grown to 64 clubs statewide. The relationship continues to remain a very close partnership, working together in these communities.
Community members and business people are encouraged to register for this year's Time4Kids program online via https://wollongong.time4kids.com.au or contact the club direct on 42294418 or wollongong@pcycnsw.org.au.
