The long-distance races will be run along the Wollongong harbour foreshore, with competitors taking in stunning views as they race from City Beach up past the harbour and North Beach.
Teenager Luke Hince finished second in the five kilometre race last year and the Kembla Joggers runner is back this season determined to go one better.
"The Fitness 5 is a great race," Hince said. "There's not too many road races around and it's a good opportunity to race on a course I train on most of the time. It's very scenic and nice and flat, so there should be some fast times.
"My training's been going well, so the goal is to take home the gold, we'll have to wait and see."
Hince enters the race in impressive form, having won a silver medal in the under 18 3000 metre race at the recent NSW Junior Championships.
He puts the improvement down to consistent training and he's looking to continue building towards the August's Australian Cross Country Championships.
"The silver came as a surprise, I've improved heaps in the last year. I have increased my mileage gradually.
"I'm hoping to get a good result at nationals cross country. It's here in Wollongong, so it would be good to go well there."
Participants for the races can enter online or between 7am and 8am on Sunday morning. Both the 5km and 10km races will commence at 8.30am.
