The Sleigh family has plenty of reasons to be happy about the city getting behind such an important international sporting event.
Destination Wollongong general manager Mark Sleigh said two members of his family have been involved with tennis in NSW for many years.
Mum has been a director of Tennis NSW for 40 years. She was involved in the last two ties coming to town.

His twin brother Greg worked for Tennis NSW after finishing university and their mother Wendy Saville has been associated with the peak body much longer.
“Mum has been a very proud life member of Tennis NSW, having been a director for over 30 years,” Mr Sleigh said.
“She was involved in the last two ties coming to town. I know she is incredibly proud and looking forward to seeing the Australian girls back here at WIN Entertainment Centre on April 21 and 22.
Tickets to cheer on the Aussie girls against the Netherlands are available at Ticketmaster. It is the 11th time time the two nations have met and a win will see Australia make the World Group of eight for the first time since 2015.
The Australian team is Sam Stosur, Ash Barty, Daria Gavrilova and Destanee Aiava.
