On arrival on the Monday, April 9, a warm welcome will be extended to our visitors with an invitation to join other women to view demonstrations and take part in physical and musical activities presented by trainers who are trained to work with older persons.
Lessons and demonstrations will include Tai Chi, International Folk Dancing, Exercise and Drumming.
The day starts at 9am and will include opportunities to chatter and laugh with women who have found the joy of living as healthy a lifestyle as their age will allow.
Tuesday’s (April 10 from 9.30am) program will be a shorter day and will start much the same way as the previous day with morning tea and a welcome pack that includes brochures, and an invitation to join or observe a Thai Yoga class. Thai Yoga originated in Thailand and our teacher is a young Thai lady.
Here in the Illawarra is the only place in Australia that present these classes.
Thai Yoga is very different from the yoga from India, it is especially for older persons and is more about breathing, stretching and meditation.
The Thai Yoga will be followed by a light lunch with a trivia quiz and brain building exercises which are especially designed to promote laughter and appreciation of companionship.
The PCYC is at 2 Exeter Ave, North Wollongong. Further details ring Barbara Malcolm on 0406 627 493.
