The 360-degree panoramic navigation technology gives customers a chance to plan ahead by virtually experiencing Dapto Mall before they leave home.
Centre manager Glenn Cochrane said by making Dapto Mall virtually accessible on Google Street View, people could tour the centre remotely to help them find what they need. That way when they arrived they knew exactly where it was.
Research of 5000 AMP Capital customers showed 39 per cent of those intending to do Christmas shopping at one of its centres expect to do it in a more planned/less browsing way. And 44 per cent will shop during less busy times.
AMP Capital's Helen Hey said.the maps can be accessed via both the Google Maps app and website and the Dapto Mall website.
"We're pleased to be able to support evolving customer shopping habits with an innovative technology solution that complements existing tools, such as our centre website, to make it even easier to plan a shopping experience," she said.
"Shoppers are ready to hit the stores again. Foot traffic across the AMP Capital portfolio is already at 91 per cent of what it was at the same time last year, including our Victorian centres."
