A Wollongong business that connects and supports other small businesses re-launched on Friday after itself receiving support from a pandemic partnership program.

The the re-launch and re-brand event at the Consortium Lounge signaled the start of a new chapter for Connect My Community Consultancy which helps businesses register with the NDIS and small business operators connect with the people who need them most.
Connect My Community Consultancy founder Phuong Barraclough recently entered into a partnership with Erin Huckle at Chuckle Communications. The two businesses teamed up via the Get your Gong on (GYGO) project, an initiative that helps connect small businesses and freelancers in Wollongong to promote success and growth during COVID-19.
Rebekah Lambert, of Unashamedly Creative and the Freelance Jungle, was the driver behind the Get your Gong on' initiative supported by Wollongong City Council.
Ms Lambert said the pairing of Connect My Community and Chuckle Communications was a great match.
She said seeing the businesses and their owners come together in such a positive way was exactly what the 'Get your Gong on' was about.
"That Wollongong City Council also saw the value in supporting local businesses speaks to the resilience and teamwork of our local area," Ms Lambert said.
"It is a reminder that even though many Wollongong business owners have faced an extraordinarily difficult year, with the right support and freelancers on their side, they can overcome just about anything to put their best foot forward."
Ms Barraclough said every day she is receiving feedback from NDIS users who have had positive experiences with the businesses she's helped.
"This re-brand will help bring my services to an even wider audience," she said.
"Working with Chuckle Communications has helped me create a fresh business brand, marketing materials and new website.
"Connecting my community is at the heart of my business and it is what I love."
Ms Barraclough's background in government and education has given her essential skills in 'government speak', and her value is in helping take the hassle out of NDIS registration for local service providers.
Alex Crittenden, of Tread Right Podiatry, is one of the business people she has recently helped with NDIS registration:
"Phuong completely rescued us during a time we were at a standstill," Mr Cittenden said.
"She took care of all the complicated details involved with the NDIS Provider Registration Renewal process."
