James was lined up against current world champ Yang Yifei of China whose personal best was 11.91sec and Mohammad Puzi from Malaysia who was the world record holder in 11.87 seconds.
James appeared to be impossibly behind for the majority of the race, but kicked in the after burners with about 20m to go and won brilliantly against Yang second and Puzi third.
A brilliant race. James is now the current world T36 champion in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m.
James will be televised on Thursday at 1.09am on the Seven Network for his 400m heat and his final on Thursday afternoon at 5.54pm.
