His Boy Elroy is celebrating International Burger Day by throwing out a challenge to Wollongong foodies that will help the homeless.
For anyone who can eat a specially created Four-Patty Fat Boy burger weighing 583 grams and fries, owners Lachlan and Selena Stevens will donate an additional $30 to new eatery Good Will Only to help the homeless.
"People have eight minutes to eat a Four-Patty Fat Boy as well as a full serving of our gravy cheese fries topped with mac'n'cheese," Mrs Stevens said.
The normal Fat Boy on the menu has one meat patty but for International Burger Day they have added three more and a third bun in the middle.
"This one is four times the size," Mrs Stevens said.
"So it is a pretty big meal to eat. It is a big lot of food".
Ms Stevens said the International Burger Day Challenge was something they have never done before.
"At His Boy Elroy we love to support the community so we thought how can we create an awesome event for people while giving back at the same time," she said.
"That was the idea of partnering with the Homeless Hub as well as the team at Good Will Only.
"They are a new vegetarian restaurant opening up on Crown Street.
"We are good mates with the guys who own that and wanted to help. We are going to give the money to Good Will Only to help kick start them and their support for the Homeless Hub".
The money raised from every Four Patty Fat Boy sold between midday and 2pm and then 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday will be given to Good Will Only for them to give to the Homeless Hub.
An additional $30 will be donated by His Boy Elroy when anyone who completes the challenge in eight minutes which means the Homeless Hub gets $60 from that one meal.
