IWIB director Glenda Papac called judges from all the sponsor businesses together at the SAGE Hotel to hand them their category finalists and issue last minute instructions before the interview process began.
Finalists will all be interviewed by two judges in their categories during April before the winners and highly commended are presented with their awards on May 10 at Villa D'Oro Function Centre.
Judges comes from the Illawarra Business Chamber, IMB Bank, Lancaster Law & Mediation, Better Business Accounting, Access Law Group, CasaMia Lingerie, ANZ Bank, Commonwealth Business Banking and Illawarra Women in Business.
They include Leanne Smith, Margaret Biggs, Terry Widdicombe, Virginia Wren, Tenielle Stevenson, Dianne Chalk, Anthony Wise, Jenny Hirst, Graham Lancaster, Mark Sleigh, Delyse Del Turco, Julie Norris, Narelle Hawken, Maree Kerr, Tim Fares, Maralyn Young, Lisa McCosker, Naomi Brown, Vi Blazevska, Julia Miller and Meryll Faulkner.
Mrs Papac said the number of finalists keeps growing every year. "Last year we had 38 individual finalists and this year 43. And many enter more than one category".
Business Woman of the Year finalists are;
Tameka Moffat, Lauren Buhagiar, Stella Stead, Catherine McMillan, Karen Meiring de Gonzalez, Amy Harper, Sarah Nolen, Apral Nikolich, Yvonne Walker, Kylie Moffit and Danielle Dickinson.
Young Business Woman of the Year finalists are:
Georgia Matts, Marie Russo, Rachelle Crilly, Nicola Xanthopoulos, Ashleigh Barry and Natalee Davis.
