Our club finally got a break from the recent spate of wet weather and held our heritage carnival among out normally scheduled events.
The main idea was to have fun and all present had a great time. We were kindly donated an original tug-o-war rope, which was extensively used amongst a lot of collapsing and fits of laughter.
At left is a picture of Delta Amidzovski flying through one of her winning long jumps at the recent Australian Primary Schools Athletics Carnival in Melbourne where she set a new Australian record of 5.49m.
Over this last weekend a small number of our best endured all the wet weather that Cairns could throw at them to compete in the Australian All Schools Championships for high school students. How they fared will be featured in out next column. www.athleticswollongong.org.au
