Wollongong United will be forced to sweat on the fitness of striker Matthew McNab for next week’s grand final after he suffered a knee injury in Sunday’s preliminary final win over Wollongong Olympic.

McNab lasted just five minutes of the 2-1 extra time win after coming together with Olympic goalkeeper Hayden Durose in a scramble on the goal line.
He was substituted shortly after, with Cody Waller coming on.
McNab will now be in a race to be fit for next week’s grand final against Bulli at WIN Stadium.
Coach Jeff Allport admitted there was some doubt over his striker’s fitness for the biggest game of the campaign.
“We are not sure and will have to wait and see,” he said.
“He came into the game with a bit of an injury but this is completely different.
“We will have to see how he comes out [on Monday].”
McNab has scored 13 goals for United throughout this season.
