The Jets came from 14 points down at half-time to win 30-28 in a thriller.
It not only allowed Shellharbour to secure outright top spot on the ladder, after overpowering Jamberoo 20-10 on Saturday, it also resulted in Warilla and Gerringong making up ground to join the Knights on 18 competition points.
The Gorillas marched to a 16-nil half-time lead over only to hand back the advantage midway through the second stanza.
However, they recovered run out 40-16 winners.
“We gave away a few penalties and that was the opposite of (the first half), when we’re not disciplined we can leak some points,” Warilla coach Aaron Henry said.
“We’ve got to fix that coming into semis.
“We just had to hand in there, we knew it would turn our way.”
While Warilla were jolted into action, Kiama were left stunned by the Jets turnaround, as centre Ryan James finished with three tries and former NRL player Dylan Farrell two.
Elsewhere, Gerringong required a dominant second half against Milton-Ulladulla.
Leading by four at the break, the Lions piled on the points to win 42-12.
Fullback Matt Winchester scored three tries, as Toby Gumley-Quine and Harry Phillips each had two.
Stingrays almost pulled off their first win of the season, going down 24-22 in a thriller against Berry-Shoalhaven Heads.
