Named player of the carnival, it was a perfect end to Bremner’s return from a string of injury problems in recent months.
Expected to be part of the St George Illawarra’s squad for the first-ever NRL Women’s competition, Bremner’s standout efforts came as South Coast teammates Kezie Apps and Ruan Sims were forced out of the final through their own injury setbacks.
Sims had a potential fractured arm, while Rikeya Horne was missing because of a concussion.
It leaves former NRL player Ben Cross, now NSW women’s coach, with a number of concerns before the Origin game against Queensland on June 22.
Country had beaten Queensland City 16-6 on Saturday to book their place in the decider. The Dragons will meet the Roosters, Broncos and Warriors in the inaugural women’s league.
