Community Leaders will “do time to keep kids out of crime” and raise funds for PCYC Wollongong.

The PCYC Wollongong is organising the “Time 4 Kids” event on Friday May 11.

The event will be on the main stage in Wollongong’s Crown St Mall from 9.30am.

PCYC Wollongong is aiming to raise upwards of $10,000 to use towards police programs and equipment needs at the club.

Well-known TV personality, actor, singer, producer Scott McRae (pictured) is a big supporter of PCYC and will be one of many personalities and business leaders participating in this year’s event.

He has challenged his friends and colleagues to help him raise $5000 so he is on the lookout for some generous individuals to help him reach this goal.

“The PCYC here in Wollongong do an awesome job, so we are going to raise some money to keep them doing the great things they do,” Scott said.

President of the Rotary Club of Wollongong, Dot Hennessy, OAM, other Rotarians, will join local community leaders and are inviting them to participate by registering, calling on friends, family and business contacts to bail them out of the make-shift PCYC goal.

It is fund-raising events like Time 4 Kids that ensures that the great work that PCYC is renowned for since 1937, founded by the Rotary Club of Sydney continues into the modern age together with the PCYC/Rotary partnership.

“We would like to call on all business leaders to nominate themselves, encourage staff to nominate their bosses to get locked up and raise some money for the kids of Wollongong,” Dot Hennessy said.

“It’s a really fun day and makes for some great photo opportunities.

“All this aside, this is all about caring for kids and community.

“I really hope everyone gets on board and does some TIME 4 KIDS.

“Those wishing to join Scott, Dot and others in the fun can register via everyday hero website,” Wollongong PCYC Club Manager Michael Jones said.
