It was a great return to the team for Illawarra’s Flynn Ogilvie in his first Games when the Kookaburras beat South Africa 4-0 in the opening game last Saturday.
But heartbreak for Illawarra’s second player Blake Govers who had to pull out at the last minute due to a broken finger at a training session.
Govers will now undergo an operation before he returns to the team.
For Ogilvie it was a great return to the team after being out for nine months due to a hamstring injury last year in Malaysia.
Against South Africa, he had two assists to allow Trent Mitton to score two goals and had an outstanding game in the midfield.
“We had a slow start to the game with South Africa pressing hard. But we stuck to our game plan and gradually wore them down and won,” Ogilvie said after the game.
Ogilvie found himself on the scoresheet with a single goal in their second game beating Scotland 6-1 last Sunday.
The Kookaburras next play Canada today and arch Tasman rivals New Zealand in their final game on Wednesday before the semis on Friday.
