With 4000 cruise ship passengers arriving on Explorer of the Seas and Tri The Gong being held the same day Wollongong City Council is paying for free bus service run at 10 minute intervals.
The Gong Shuttle usually uns every 20 minutes on Sundays but with so many people in and around the city and foreshore Cr Leigh Colacino successfully lobbeyed to have it run more frequently.
“I would like to thank Wollongong City Council and Premier Buses for their support in ensuring that multiple events in the city will work together to provide a seamless guest experience,” Cr Colacino said.
“When our first cruise ship came in we shared the city with 800 Harley Davidson riders, and this time we will share it with elite athletes who have their eyes on the Commonwealth Games.”
Multiple events add to the overall guest experience and I am sure that Sunday will be another proud day for our city.”
