A decade after the treetop walk, cafe and souvenir shop opened at the top of the Illawarra Escarpment near Knights Hill the Illawarra Fly has evolved to now also feature the highest zipline tour in Australia through the rainforest.
While it is located in the Kiama local government area it takes in a Southern Highlands Rainforest overlooking Albion Park, Lake Illawarra, Shellharbour, Wollongong and Macquarie Pass.
The fun day planned to celebrate the Illawarra Fly’s birthday this Sunday includes many activities between 11am and 2pm.
That includes a jumping castle, petting zoo, face painting and ranger talks.
Treetop Walks for $10 are available with the purchase of a full price ticket and 10 per cent off zipline tours are available for walk-up purchase on Sunday.
The decade old structure is a 1500 treetop metre walk through a warm temperature rainforest with two swaying cantilevered arms and a central tower 50 metres above the forest floor.
Meanwhile the zipline tour features a series of integrated cables spanning 247 metres.
