The Rotary Club of Corrimal held a special dinner last week to acknowledge the outstanding work ethic of four local employees, Wally Sultan, Linda Banovich, Deborah Gleaves and Michael Knight.

In the presence of family members, their employers and colleagues, Rotary presented each of them with a Pride of Workmanship Award.
One of Rotary’s areas of service is Vocational Service and within that the promotion of high ethical standards in all vocations.
The Pride of Workmanship program gives members of the community and employers an opportunity to nominate employees worthy of recognition, not just within their organisation, but in the wider community.
The Rotary Club of Corrimal has held many Pride of Workmanship nights and is always keen to present awards to employees who show outstanding qualities in their approach, attitude, and commitment to their vocation.
This year’s awardees are worthy recipients.
Wally is employed at Bellambi Drive Thru Pharmacy. Wally goes above and beyond his job description. He is a kind and courteous gentleman who takes pride in his work and demonstrates that pride with all of his customers.
Linda is a long-term staff member of the IMB Bank at Corrimal Court. Linda is highly regarded by her peers and customers, many of whom look for her when they visit the branch. Linda is friendly and helpful, knowledgeable and efficient, and provides outstanding service to her customers.
Deborah is employed at Wollongong Surf Leisure Resort. Deborah takes pride in her work and assists management to instil a culture of the highest possible standards of presentation of guest rooms and of customer service.
Michael is a mechanic at Ultra Tune Corrimal. He is extremely diligent in every aspect of the business from workmanship to customer service, and goes above and beyond what is required.
A special honour for the RC of Corrimal was the attendance of the immediate Past Rotary International President John Germ and his wife who had flown into Australia that morning.
This is a first visit to the Illawarra by a past Rotary International President.
Others who attended the celebration was Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery; Rotary leaders and members; and family members and work colleagues of Wally, Linda, Deborah and Michael.
