Earlier: Shoalhaven Police have remained tight lipped about an operation which has been going on in Nowra since midday.
The operation has been underway in and around St Ann Street, Nowra but has been centred on a townhouse which is part of a unit complex.
Although police won’t confirm anything it is believed they are investigating the death of a man.
A crime scene has been established since early afternoon with at least a dozen police scouring the area around a block of units on the western side of the Princes Highway.
Detectives, general duties and scientific officers have been at the scene, with officers questioning surrounding neighbours.
Police tape has been rolled out around the home and across the street.
Neighbours report hearing screaming coming from near the property about midnight Thursday, while another resident told the South Coast Register a man was seen and heard walking down an adjacent street to the property (View Street) around the same time yelling.
Just before 7.30pm police have instructed the media to relocated from the area as all of View Street was going to be included in the crime scene.
