The staff at these camps are superb – bringing to the fore leadership qualities and team building skills that are so important for the emerging athlete. It was quite apparent that different groups responded differently to the challenges – with many activities placing the athletes outside their comfort zone.
Analogies to the challenges that all athletes face through competition were provided, enabling each athlete to recognise how they might respond under pressure. These camps are a new addition to what the IAS offers to young aspiring athletes and the feedback appears positive.
