And University of Wollongong Professor Alex Frino, the man responsible for getting Prince Andrew, The Duke of York here, can’t wait for young entrepreneurs to finally pitch their business ideas to His Royal Highness.
The Duke is in the country launching his Pitch@Palace Australia program.
‘’I think more important than his visit, is why he is here, and that’s to help budding Australian entrepreneurs to develop their businesses and their business thinking, that’s what the Pitch@Palace program is for, to develop young budding entrepreneurs and not so young,’’ Prof Frino said.
The exciting part for the University of Wollongong is we reached out to Prince Andrew two years ago to make this happen.

Semi-finals of the program have already been held in Melbourne and the Gold Coast, with Prince Andrew to be at Macquarie University in Sydney on Monday before heading to Wollongong on Tuesday.
‘’The exciting part for the University of Wollongong is we reached out to Prince Andrew two years ago to make this happen,’’ UOW Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof Frino said.
‘’We led this initiative and we brought in the other universities to make it happen on a national scale and we are hosting the most important part of the event, which distinguishes itself from all other pitch events, and that’s the educational component.
‘’The boot-camp that we are having in Wollongong is where we train the entrepreneurs and select the 24 finalists.
That is the centrepiece of Pitch@Palace program and the University of Wollongong is absolutely stoked to lead that and use some of our talent here to help develop young entrepreneurs.

That talent includes well-known Australian actor Andrew McFarlane, who will teach the entrepreneurs about the ‘’theatre of pitching an idea’’.
Australian businessman and co-inventor of Wi-Fi, David Skellern will also talk to them and be part of a judging panel which selects the 24 finalists to go to the final at Government House in Sydney on September 28.
