Amity College (formerly known as Sule College) is an independent, non-denominational, multi campus school operating in NSW since 1996. It has been serving the community for over 20 years and has grown beyond expectations to meet the increasing demand of Australia’s multicultural society.

Illawarra students have achieved remarkable results in NAPLAN and ICAS. As the school has grown so too have the initiatives to provide students with diverse learning opportunities such as the Differentiated Learning Programs and music programs.
With two outdoor fields for sports, a gym and a mini basketball court, students are never short of recreational enjoyment. Each term students are involved in different sports, such as tennis, gymnastics and AFL.
“We are a colourful and vibrant school with our folk dancing group that attends many multicultural festivals and other events,” Mr Aslan said. “Our students are also involved in activities such as Clean Up Australia Day, Anzac Ceremony commemorations and Harmony Day.
“Also lunchtime discussions where students are encouraged to consider ethical and moral issues with their peers and act to make changes in the world.
“We also aim to develop a well-rounded person by having students exercise their social responsibility through engagement in community work, intercultural and interfaith activities with other educational institutions.”
Currently, Amity College Illawarra is extending to High School. They have exciting new plans to build their High School next door and will cater from Year 7 to Year 10 - 2017 saw their very first Year 7 class!
The Illawarra High School Campus works in conjunction with the Prestons High School Campus, continuing the academic rigour that Amity College is renowned for in an individualised learning environment of a small high school.
Amity Illawarra High students study two languages, choosing from either Turkish or Arabic and Spanish.
“Students are also offered a wide range of Creative Arts and Technology subjects and we utilise a one to one iPad program,” he said.
