Primary or secondary schools can collaborate on an art installation – as a year group or entire school – and submit their work to be displayed alongside pieces from some of the country’s top artists over the 10 day festival in September/October.

“There's no theme per se, but it's just a mix of mediums (wood, metal, steel, ceramic, etc) and ensuring the works are unique, creative and compliment the event and the overall landscape of the region,” said spokeswoman Courtney Beaton.

“The beauty of art is it's ability to engage an audience whether they're aware of it or not - you don't have to be an expert to have an opinion, and each piece creates a discussion point.”

More than $10,000 in prizes and giveaways are available for artists. While the general public can take part in workshops, demonstrations, relax to live entertainment and enjoy food stalls and a twilight market.

It’s hoped 60 installations will be set up along the picturesque coastline of The Farm.

From last year’s inaugural event, Mrs Beaton said it was inspiring and amazing to see the influence the festival had on encouraging people to get creative.

“From kids who went home and got colourful in the garden, the elderly who picked up pencils and paints, aspiring photographers who captured the festival in all different lights and angles,” she said.

“It's a great ... opportunity to not only engage and support the local arts community, but the wider community as a whole get to be part of a unique event in one very spectacular location.”

Applications for sculptures close August 25. The event runs from September 29 to October 8.
