‘It’s just so cruel’: shock and grief over death of Naum Dislievski

The sudden death of a 20-year-old man at a Wollongong nightspot has sent shockwaves through the Illawarra.

Former Figtree High School student Naum Dislievski collapsed during a night out at a Wollongong’s Mr Crown – formerly The Glasshouse. NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to the venue at 12.20am Sunday.

He was treated and transported to Wollongong Hospital, but could not be revived.

Police say they do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances involved.

Friends have described Mr Dislievski as “a beautiful soul”. “A life taken way too young!” wrote Daniel Niceski, in a post to social media.

“A person that put everyone before himself. There was not a moment you did not have a smile on your face.”

Lalita Sitnikoska described Mr Dislievski’s death as “an unimaginable tragedy”.

Another, Elizabeth Veljanovski, voiced her shock. “It's just too devastating for me to even comprehend, I can't stop crying. It’s just so cruel.”

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
