With no score at half time, it was Meadow who went ahead in the second half through Kieren Richards but Wests retaliated with a double from Elliot Ashby and a goal to Matt Tyler to make it 3-1 before Daine Richards reduced the deficit.
With University having the bye, Albion Park took over the top spot thrashing Robertson 13-1 with a hat-trick from Zac Nyrhinen, double goals from Brady Anderson, Jack Hayes and Kieren Govers, and Shane Mcleish, Rhys Gary, Scott Govers and Josh Kellam completing the scoreline.
In women’s hockey, it was back to the league with a double header weekend.
On Friday, Park beat FigDerra 8-2, Railway Greys beat Dapto 4-1, Wests beat Avondale 2-1, University beat Gerringong 4-0 and Meadow best Jamberoo 5-3.
Saturday results: Park bt Jamberoo 6-1, Gerringong bt Greys 2-1, Avondale bt Dapto 4-2, Wests bt FigDerra 11-0, University drew with Robertson 1-1.
