In 2016 the University of Wollongong student collected 40 large boxes full of clothes, which she donated to the Wollongong Homeless Hub.
‘’I’d love to get as much, if not more this year,’’ she said.
‘’I don’t know what it is like to be homeless but I just want to do my bit to keep them a little warmer this winter.’’
There are 1500 homeless people in the Illawarra. About 175 are ‘’sleeping rough’’ on any given night.
‘’We need clothes and much needed funds for the homeless hub,’’ Miss Adede said.
‘’All donations are tax deductible so we’d appreciate as much help as we can possibly get.’’
The Red Cross volunteer is in her fourth year of her nutritions degree at UOW.
‘’Students were very generous with their clothes donations last year. I’m sure they will be again this year,’’ she said.
‘’We particularly need jumpers and jackets but will take all clothes.
The clothing drive is running until June 22.
People can drop off clothes at the UOW library at anytime or call Miss Adede on 0420 382 067 for details.
