Mr Lamont said solutions like stamp duty concessions, sale of surplus land and early access to super were old tactics.
“To state the obvious, there is not a shortage of land in Australia, rather a shortage of serviced land and supply in those areas where housing is required,” he said.
“If governments are to tackle the decline in housing affordability, an important and critical part of the solution [is[ to invest in essential infrastructure. We must build our future cities and extend existing ones.”
