This year the format is somewhat different as open class and Para class athletes are also able to compete in their respective events.
Last year also saw the relaxing of registration costs for athletes registered with Little Athletics NSW who also wanted to compete in Athletics NSW events.
The increase in the number of juniors saw our club-registered athletes rise to exciting numbers and allowed these athletes access to the huge wealth of coaching talent that exists at out club.
This has resulted in an unprecedented number of our juniors as well as two adults gaining eligibility to compete on the national stage.
The 14 juniors are Iluka Budai, Cameron Lodge, Isaac O'Brien, Kirra Lockett, Erin Dalley, Teghan Barklay, Eleanor Tozer, Jackie Lenartowicz, Kiara White, Rosie Tozer, James Gorham, Nathan Cowgill, Luke Hunter and Tierney Dunne.
State javelin champion Karen Clarke, who had a winning throw of 46.98 metres at the last championships, earns a crack at a national title.
James Turner, who won the NSW Para amb 800-metre title at 2 minutes 4.4 seconds, also earns a spot at the Australian Championships.
Our club wishes them all the best, in their endeavours.

As a result of his efforts at the recent NSW Little Athletics Championships at SOPAC, multi-skilled Jett Link has been selected in particular for his efforts in jumps and hurdles as part of the NSW under-13 boys team to compete in the Australian Little Athletics Championships to be held on April 22-23 at SOPAC in Sydney.
This is quite a prestigious honour as Little Athletics Australia only holds the Championships for the under-13 and under-15 class since its inception back in 1973.
So well done Jett. Enjoy this rare experience.
For those who visited our stall at the Beaton Park Open Day, it was unfortunate that there wasn't a ready track for you to run on.
But don't lose that initiative.
Our coaches have found alternate training facilities and are mindful that the school season brings out a new groups of very keen and motivated juniors who want to run, jump or throw better than the next person.
