But they can always do with some more helping hands when they drop by Shellharbour Aboriginal Community Youth Association (SACYA) premises at the Oakleigh Park Hall in Shellharbour Road, Warilla on Saturday, April 1.
Spearheaded by the Christian Churches of the Shellharbour area, CItyServe has established a collaborative partnership with Shellharbour Council, clubs and the greater community.
Since 2013 this partnership has mobilised up to 700 volunteers to ‘’fix up’’ various areas in the city needing improvements.
CityServe Pastor Shane Cook was looking forward to the first clean-up event for 2017.
‘’This is a great opportunity for CityServe to get out and do some good for our indigenous youth in the city,’’ he said.
‘’We’d love some help on April 1 to help out at SACYA. It is a big project. There is a lot of work to do.’’
The scope of work includes painting the exterior wall of the building and to place, level and compact a new road base on the driveway.
‘’We’d love to see heaps of people help out. They can rock up from 8am.’’
