Illawarra Shoalhaven Partners in Recovery (ISPIR) in conjunction with a number of partner organisations is running the free workshops to improve the lives of people with a mental illness living in the region.
ISPIR team leader Jenny Valdivia says the first workshop will help individuals identify what their needs are and equip them with the skills to find the right supports for themselves to achieve their unique goals.
‘’We have identified a need to help individuals become ‘self-advocates’ – our team will be delivering a program we have designed to address this,’’ Ms Valdivia said.
‘’We invite anyone with a lived experience of mental illness to join us- particularly if they feel they could benefit from extra support.’’
‘Building Your Recovery’ will run every Wednesday from February 22 until March 15, 10am until 12:30pm. The workshop will be held in the Grand Pacific Health meeting room, suite 1 ground floor, 336 Kiera Street, Wollongong.
There is no cost to participate but registrations are essential.
