That’s why, if you have something to say about getting older, we want to hear it.
The information will form part of the research we’re doing to develop a new Positive Ageing Plan for the City of Wollongong.
The plan’s aim is to make Wollongong a better place for older people to live safely, remain independent and stay involved in the community.
So, if you’re a resident aged 65 years or older, or an Aboriginal resident aged 50 or older, your voice and thoughts are essential to developing this new plan.
You can let the council know what’s most important to you through a survey that’s available on the council’s website as an online survey and as a pdf document.
The survey closes on March 20, 2017. There are also hard copies available at council libraries, or you can call (02) 4227 8239 for a copy to be posted out to you.

We’ve found Dory! The forgetful fish will be at Dapto’s Reed Park on Saturday, February 25, when Wollongong City Council’s Moonlight Movies returns with a free screening of Finding Dory.
Finding Dory is the sequel to the much-loved Finding Nemo and tells the story of Dory, who goes on an adventure to find her parents. The event is thanks to Everyday CareSouth.
Food and drink will be made available for purchase by the Dapto Cricket Club.
Council’s Moonlight Movies season will be rounded out for 2016-17 with a screening of Minions on Saturday, March 4. Minions will be held at Robert Ziems Park, Corrimal, and it’s being presented in partnership with Corrimal Chamber of Commerce. The Cougars Rugby League Club will be operating a canteen.
Both movies are very popular with families and I’d encourage everyone to get along early – gates open at 6pm – to reserve their spots before the films start at 8pm.
And don’t forget your comfy pillows and blankets!
