The Delhi Waveriders, who won the title in 2014 have slowly climbed up the table after a poor start in the league and are presently in fourth position.
White has come back to competitive hockey after his devastating withdrawal from the Australian Olympic team to Rio last year due to a posterior cruciate ligament injury.
His Delhi team had a disappointing 1-1 draw against the UP Wizards last Sunday and will have to beat the Ranchi Rays in their final match to make the semis.
The Ranchi team features another Illawarra player and Kookaburra Flynn Ogilvie.
After Sunday's game, White said from Delhi: "Our team struggled in the first few matches but improved towards the last half of the tournament. We have a great defence but have not been able to score and convert our good chances."
The semis and finals are this weekend and can be seen live on Fox Sport.
