The search for a man who went missing while fishing at Bewong Creek in the Shoalhaven yesterday has been suspended.
Just after 8.10am Wednesday emergency services located the body of a man in the creek.
While the body has not yet been formally identified, is believed to be that of an 80-year-old man reported missing on Tuesday.
Police attached to Shoalhaven Local Area Command will prepare a brief for the Coroner.
Initial report
A search for a man missing in waters in Bewong, south of Nowra, will resume this morning after being suspended overnight.
Police have been told an 80-year-old man went fishing on Tuesday afternoon, and failed to return home.
Nowra Police and NSW SES began a search for the man just before 10pm.
Initial investigations suggested the man may have fallen overboard from his small fishing boat.
The search was suspended at 1.20am on Wednesday and is expected to resume at 8am Wednesday.
