Designed to foster creativity and innovation, founder and CEO Carmen Rudd said it is a workspace that goes beyond providing a desk.
“In our community we are seeing more people starting out … and I wanted to create a space where likeminded start-up freelancers and entrepreneurs can experience comradery, networking and connections that are priceless,” Ms Rudd said.
“Isolation for people working from home can become daunting … and is one of the reasons people just give up.”
Ms Rudd said the space aim’s to provide an environment where people can find the support and growth they need to get off the ground.
Artstein Legal owner Stephanie Lee Dyball is just one of the many local businesses that has embraced Zig Zag Hub’s co-working environment, and said it creates a number of opportunities for workers.
“Zig Zag Hub is a progressive and collaborative alternative to single-industry office environments,” Ms Dyball said.
“It creates an opportunity for professionals to venture beyond the office’s four walls and collaborate with businesses in different fields to broaden their skill set, knowledge base and become dynamic and innovative entrepreneurs.
“This is difficult to match in the office environment of a traditional ‘law firm’ and the culture pales in comparison. I believe vehicles like Zig Zag Hub will facilitate this workplace shift and enable more start-up businesses and entrepreneurs to thrive in Wollongong.”
Described as an ‘open space for thinking, talking and testing business ideas’ it is one of many co-working spaces to have arrived in Australia over the past two years.
