Illawarra musician Samantha Geddes will make her theatrical debut as “Julia Sullivan” with the Illawarra Youth Arts Project’s production of The Wedding Singer.

She’ll play alongside a regular on the amateur theatre circuit, Blake Kovac, who plays Robbie Hart.
The stage musical, based on the box office hit starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, is running at Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul from September 28 to October 2.
Drama teacher and show director Jess Stares said they hope to follow the success of their last production, the cheerleading comedy Bring It On, which was “close to being a sold out season”.
More than 40 cast and crew, aged from 15 to 25, are involved in the production.
Meantime IYAP already is already in pre-production for their junior (12 to 18-year-olds) work 13 the Musical set for January.
Ms Stares said the company is building momentum and through hard work and dedication they will be offering a number of opportunities for youth to gain theatre experience with at least five shows in 2017.
