Chiefs out-hit Pirates 13-6 and took control from their opening at-bat, scoring three runs in the first to lead 3-1.
Chiefs starter Tim English pitched well (five innings, four hits, one earned run), while Mitchell Dodd led the way with the bat, going 3/5 with an RBI.
Meanwhile, Wests Cardinals made it seven straight wins, thumping Mariners 18-1.
From 1-1 in the fourth, Cards ended the contest with an eight run innings. Skipper Josh Dean had a rare day on the mound and threw five innings for only three hits and one run, plus went 3/3 with an RBI. Joel Thompson was 3/5 with a double and 4 RBIs.
