So says Corrimal Chamber of Commerce president Paul Boultwood, who has called on the council to adopt and endorse the Corrimal Draft Town Plan at its next meeting on Monday, November 30.
‘’Corrimal is the businenss hub of the northern suburbs and residents want to see their area thrive once again,’’ Mr Boultwood said.
‘’The community has had to sit and see all the work happening in Wollongong City with the new GPT, the new and improved mall as well as the Blue Mile.
‘’The residents up in the north would also like to see their hub go under revitalisation since they have been waiting patiently for over four decades.
‘’Plans to revitalise the town in 2009 did not go ahead and this is why the residents of the northern Illawarra are asking the Council to adopt and endorse this new Town Plan on November 30.’’
Mr Boultwood said the chamber of commerce and a number of Corrimal groups wished to work hand in hand with the council to make Corrimal once again the ‘’Jewel in the Crown’’ of northern Illawarra.
