Everyone has to work together to achieve a successful economy and in the common interest of the whole community.
Germany and Japan’s economic success is built on this framework and now the rest of Australia can look towards the Illawarra as a leader in community/industrial collaboration.

The Illawarra has set the standard for industrial collaboration and I cannot congratulate the workers enough and I acknowledge this has come at great cost to some with the loss of their jobs through redundancy.
However, the short to medium term future of our steelworks has been secured by a community based approach and we should be proud.

Congratulations to Destination Wollongong for hosting a Blender of a weekend over the October long weekend.
I have had a trail of letters from our community and visitors congratulating us on the sold out weekend events.
