St Columban’s has been delivering quality education to the children of inner-city suburbs for 100 years. We are a multicultural community with students from twenty-two different nationalities, blending together to form a school community that is culturally aware and accepting of others.
Our approach to education reflects the Dominican values of prayer, study, community and service, which are reflected in our mission statement:
“Empowering all to reach their full potential, within a diverse community, through the richness and Truth of Christ’s message”.
St Columban’s achieves its mission by providing a Catholic Christian environment that nurtures social, cultural, emotional, spiritual and intellectual growth. In partnership with parents, we provide an atmosphere where all children will be happy, well-adjusted members of the community.
We are a Positive Behaviour for Learning school, encouraging self-discipline and active engagement in learning. St Columban’s provides rich and varied learning opportunities for all students through differentiated activities and extra-curricular opportunities such as Choir, Mini-Vinnies, social justice, gardening, piano lessons, sporting schools, drama, art and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
Our school enjoys a close relationship with San Clemente high school and offers a strong Year 6 transition program. We are part of a Gifted Education Lead School initiative in which we work with other schools in our cluster to identify and cater to high potential learners.
St Columban’s is proud of its heritage and tradition as well as its innovative learning opportunities. We are open to families of all faith traditions who are willing to support the Catholic ethos of our school. We welcome enrolment enquiries and are happy to provide tours of the school throughout the year
